Help for Senior Citizens
"In an effort to protect our most vulnerable population from the spread of the virus, the Mohler Center and People Mover have teamed up and mobilized volunteers to help senior citizen remain safely in their homes. They are offering assistance with obtaining groceries, pharmacy runs, and general errands.
The Mohler Center will be open for phone calls (717-533-2002) from 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM Monday through Friday to offer problem solving and social contact as well. Update: We are no longer in the office daily but are managing the outreach from our homes. Call and leave a message and someone will return your call. All messages will be returned within 24 hours.
The Mohler Center is committed to assisting the area senior citizens. Give them a call and let them know how they can help!"
We give rides ANYWHERE in Derry Township. Including doctor and dentist appointments, hairdressers, pharmacies, banks, post office, churches, Mohler Senior Center, grocery stores, and more.
46 years of service (1974 – 2020)
People Mover was established in 1974 when the Federated Women's Club of Hershey recognized the need for transportation of older citizens. Consequently, the Federated Women's Club of Hershey organized the Senior Citizens Council, incorporated in October, 1974. With the support of the Dauphin County Area Agency on Aging, a van was provided and service began on January 3rd, 1975.
The van was christened "The People Mover".
We are a 501c3 non-profit charitable organization operated by Volunteers of the Senior Citizens Council of Derry Township and governed by an All-Volunteer Board of Directors.
